How to Download & Install HP DesignJet Wireless Printer Drivers?

We will see the download and installation of printer drivers for the HP DesignJet wireless printer. Although, after connecting the printer to a computer, the computer automatically detects and installs the printer drivers. But it will not happen every time, and you will be required to do it manually. Also, installing drivers manually is the best process to get the drivers as you get the desired and recommended printer drivers. 

In this blog, we will emphasize the download and installation of drivers in HP DesignJet wireless printers. There are different conditions where you have to follow different steps. Let's see them one by one. 

How to Install HP DesignJet Wireless Printer Drivers?

If you want to download and install printer drivers for HP printers, here are some instructions to do it by using the Add a Printer option. So, follow the steps given below. 

Step 1: Download the Printer Drivers

First, move to the HP support page. Then, go to the page for HP DesignJet printers and select the printer drivers and download them. 

Step 2: Extract the Driver Files

After downloading the printer drivers, you have to extract the files. Two types of files may download- exe.File extension drivers and file extension drivers. We will see their extraction one by one. 

• For exe.File extension drivers: To get the HP DesignJet printer driver, navigate to your file and double-click the downloaded file to extract it. Then, a new window will appear while extracting the file. Choose any path to extract the file, but ensure the place where you saved it. 
• For file extension drivers: First, navigate to your file and double-click on it to extract it. Your screen will show some Zip files. So, tap on Extract and move to extract all. Then, a different window will appear, showing you another path to extract the files. 

Step 3: Install Printer Drivers via the Network

When you have downloaded the printer drivers for the HP printer and extracted the files, then you need to follow the given steps. 

Get printer drivers from the network on the new HP printer:

1. On your windows, look for your device and choose devices and printers from the displayed list. 
2. Otherwise, you can move to the Control Panel and tap on Devices and Printers. 
3. To install the HP wireless printer driver on Windows 10, tap on Add a printer. 
4. After that, the add printer wizard will be displayed. 
5. Move to the "The printer I want is not listed" and choose it. 
   
6. After that, you have to tap on Next. 
7. Then, choose to add a local printer option with your TCP/IP address. If you have already done this, confirm that the network wire is connected to the printer and set to use. 
   
8. After that, move to the drop-down menu and select IP/TCP and provide the IP address. 
9. Supply the IP address in the given address bar or the hostname field. 
10. Now, click Next and then click Finish. 
11. After that, go to the disk and look for the location where you have installed the driver files.
    
12. In the next step, select the printer drivers. 
13. You can select the set as the default printer if you want to set it as your default printer. 
14. Click Next and let the drivers be installed. 
    
15. At last, click Print a test page and tap Finish at the bottom to close the Add printer wizard. 
    

Get the HP printer drivers on the existing printer:

If you wish to install the printer drivers on your existing printer on a network, you can do it easily. Follow the given steps to do this.

1. On your Windows, navigate to the devices and select devices and printers displayed in the list of results. 
2. After that, choose to Add a Printer. 
3. Then, move to the Control Panel and select devices and then use Devices and Printers. 
4. In the next step, choose to Add a printer. 
5. To get the HP DesignJet printer drivers on Windows 10, select the option the printer I want it's not listed and click the Next option at the bottom. 
   
6. Next, choose a network printer/ add a printer by manual settings. 
7. Move to "Use an existing port and then select it." 
8. Now, select the port from the drop-down menu. 
9. After that, tap the Have Disk option and continue looking for the location where your driver files are saved. 
10. Then, choose the printer driver. 
11. You can select your printer as the default printer. 
12. Now, tap on Next and let the printer driver be installed. 
13. After that, your printer will ask you to take a test page. 
14. Lastly, tap on the Finish option to close the Add Printer wizard.
